Bringing New Life to Your Old Pool

Remember when everyone was excited with the pool? You had just bought your new house with a pre-existing pool, or perhaps had one installed many years ago. It was your pride and joy and well used by you and your family. Now years have passed and your pool is looking old and worn out. Little or no attention is paid to the area anymore and, in truth, it has become a bit of an eyesore. Rather than let it languish and deteriorate further, perhaps it is time to consider a pool remodel.

There are several options available to bring new life to your old pool ranging from some quick and easy additions to major changes. One of the most common pool remodels is resurfacing. Many pools lose their gloss over time and reveal a dull surface underneath. A simple coating to line the pool can bring back its original luster.

Many times it is not the pool itself, but the surrounding area that needs improvement. Many older pool areas built before the 80s were constructed with concrete coping and surrounding concrete slab. A new brick paver system around the pool would give the entire area a new look and the non-slip surface of the bricks would add a level of safety to the entire area.

Another idea is a new addition to the pool to give it new life. a new spa or fountain can totally transform the appearance of a swimming area. A faux rock wall around the pool area is another simple and affordable idea. Of course sometimes it takes more than a simple cosmetic fix to remodel your pool. If you are wanting to change the shape of the pool or move it so that it fits in more harmoniously with the surroundings the project will take on new levels of complexity.
