Decking your above ground swimming pool has a lot of advantages. When you decked your above pool, it will be easily accessible. You still can make an entrance to it which will hinder young children from accessing it. Decking installation also makes your pool looks more attractive. If you need the appearance of a fully-in-ground pool, decking is a good way that will do the trick. To do deck installation, an excavation isn't needed unless you choose to do. If your decking is especially large enough, this will allow people to sit by the side that you'll have enough space for other elements of outdoor living.

Decks constructed around above ground pools are no different than any other freestanding deck. They shouldn't be attached to the pool for any stability. The pool is essentially just adjacent to the deck. For most above ground pools, these decks will be anywhere between 3 to 6 feet above the ground.
It is good to know that some companies that sell above ground pools do a standard decking for your pool. Just call them and place your order whenever you need it. These decks coordinate with the rest of your above ground pool and may include a covering or room for a chair or two.
Some pool owners choose to opt for a wooden deck. You can do this yourself. These decks can be customized to add outdoor living space for a table and chairs and even a grill.
Most People used redwood, cedar, pressure treated pine, and even some exotic hardwoods to do wood decks. Wood has some beautiful natural characteristics but also requires some maintenance. There are over a hundred different man-made decking products on the market today. Most are composed of wood-plastic composite, capped composite, vinyl, and aluminum. They offer low-maintenance and a variety of appearances.
Wood decking is usually nailed or screwed to the joists for attachment. Alternative decking products have a wide range of hidden fastening systems. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions.
If for any reason you're not happy with wooden decks, another option is to go for a composite decking. This type of decking gives you an even greater choice of colors and styles. The most important feature of composite decking is that it's nearly maintenance free. A standard decking must be able to support 40 lbs live load plus 15 lbs dead load as it is supported between joists. Most decking is designed to be installed across 16" on center joists.

Your choice in decking is very important because it is the surface you will see, walk on, maintain, and have to live with for years to come. Do some research on our site to find a material that lends itself to your tastes?
