One of the best ways to fight the scorching heat during summer is plunging into the cool and refreshing water of your pool. In places with high temperature, having a pool in the backyard can be considered a necessity. If you don't have one yet and have plans in constructing one, here are different types of Pools to choose from:

Above-Ground Swimming Pools
These are the easiest and cheapest pools to build. Above-ground pool is popular to people who are not into digging their backyards. They are available in a wide variety of models with sizes that range from ten feet to thirty feet in diameter. They can be easily dismantled if you need to move to a new location. Assembling them is easy too, anyone can do it with the use of pre-fabricated kits. This saves you money because this eliminates the need to hire contractors to do the job for you.

In-Ground Pool
These are the most popular types of pools, and the most expensive too. This is great for people who are not tight on their purse strings. This option allows you to design your own pool, length, width, shape, depth, that suits your taste. They last for years and years to come, even longer when properly maintained. Here are four types of In-Groung Pools.

Fiber Glass Pools
This type has a single piece of fibreglass which is made from a static composition. It is less prone to any bacterial and algal attacks. This lowers the maintenance costs since the chemical treatment is reduced as well as re-plastering and repainting are not needed.

Gunite Swimming Pool
These pools are the leading choice in the United States, and lasts longer compared to the other types. They are set up by making a framework of steel rods which is called €Rebar bars€ in the dug space. Then it is heavily sprayed with guinite coating which is a mixture of sand, cement and water, which is smoothened out and then let it dry for a week. Plaster is then added for a smooth finish.

Concrete Swimming Pool
Considered as the best type of in-ground pool, these pools are created by pouring concrete into wooden cast which is then removed after the concrete has set. In this way, you can choose your own layout.

Vinyl-Lined In-Ground Pools
This is the most commonly used type since it is cheaper compared to other in-ground types. They are established by constructing frames on the dugout space for the pool then sand is placed on the bottom part. For finishing touches, plastic, metal or wood walls are installed which are then lined with vinyl liner.

There are other different types of swimming pools that are available out there like the infinity edge and diving pools. So before you start to install your own pool, be sure to determine the type that best suites you.
