I Found Yet Another Great Brisbane Swimming Pool

I received an invite a short while ago from another old school buddy. It was for a outdoor barbeque and I was happy to turn up, for I do like to catch up with old mates. What the invitation did not actually say was that my friend Robert and his family had recently put in yet one more amazing Brisbane pool.

The new pool seriously enlivened a pleasant yet previously plain backyard which sloped smoothly down in the direction of a Jacaranda lined roadway. Considerable landscaping accompanied the installation, with a total restoration of the block in fact. A number of rock feature walls had been constructed, and above each the flattened terrace zones afforded the restructured yard a significantly steeper feeling overall, yet supplied several independent, flat areas, that could be utilized for both recreation and planting.

Most of the new plantings in fact were native plant varieties; there were quite a selection of small grevilleas in evidence, their brilliant and aromatic flowers attracting numerous wild birds to their leaves. Tree ferns, monsteras and birds of paradise crouched gracefully beneath the few more substantial trees along the backyard's boundaries.

Not only was the pool itself sunk into the land surface, but the pathways and paved places around that Brisbane pool had been lowered and flanked with well-built stone walls. The rock utilised was a nicely jointed slate, with quite flat faces for the most part, as well as a blend of good dark grey colors along with some iron stained yellows and reds too. The walls looked built in the Irish fashion with quite deep pointing of an inch or so and the sloping faces leaning outward. Darkish coloured mortar was utilized for all the walls and this did give a striking effect indeed.

The pool was constructed of fibreglass and was tiled right down to the water line. A formidable recirculating system had been put in and My friend Robert told me that it made the cleaning a whole lot simpler. He also added that three kids, mostly ready to do their share of the work, had cut his labour virtually to zero. A heated spa pool had been situated close by under the shelter of a chunkily built gazebo and whilst I didn't give it a shot, I accepted the family's word for it that the warm water was in fact great in the cooler days of the brief Brisbane winter.

Evidently the swimming pool installation was a faster task as compared to the landscaping and the stone wall construction which followed it. I surely couldn't fault the pool installation job, it seemed solid, well designed and equally effectively installed. It was certainly a treat for swimming in, it was well heated, and deep enough to safely utilize the durable diving board which adorned the wider end.

Thus, one more fine Brisbane pool decorates the hills in the western suburbs, and certainly one which I will undoubtedly be traveling to once in a while.
