Keep the Party Going With Outdoor Party Lights

There is nothing quite as fun has being with a group of friends outside on a warm summer evening and nothing quite as important as the mood that is created with outdoor party lights. When we entertain out by our swimming pool we use many different kinds of lighting - solar, battery operated, candles, and tiki torch lights. Be sure to place your lights in many different places. Outdoor tables, the entrance, walk-ways and stairs, and around the perimeter of your pool or yard are some suggestions.

Battery Operated Paper Lanterns

We hang battery operated paper lanterns on the arbor near the entrance to our swimming pool. It helps to light up the walkway as people come and go. Also hang them from the ribs on your outdoor umbrella or on the branches of nearby trees.

Tiki Torch Lights

Place inexpensive bamboo tiki torches around the perimeter of the backyard or pool area so that the light is dispersed and not just concentrated in one area.

Floating Pool Lights

There are a couple of ways to light up the pool. If no one is going to be swimming, place electronic candles in a clear plastic bowls weighted with some little decorative pebbles. Then set them out to float. You don't need to worry about candles blowing out. Be sure to turn off the pump and or the bowls will bunch together. If the electronic candles get wet they will stop working. There are also floating solar pool lights that work great. Depending on the size of your pool you will need several of them and they cost quite a bit more than the electronic candles.

Solar LED String Lights

We love our solar LED string lights. They are kept outside year round and come on automatically every evening. Often they are still glowing come early morning. Wrap them on a deck fence or railing. If you don't have a railing, then put them on a decorative trellis.

Lighted Patio Umbrellas

An umbrella candle is perfect for not taking up space on the table, yet providing some nice ambience to the evening party. If more light is needed for playing cards or games then choose battery powered umbrella lights as they provide a brighter and stronger light.
