Latest Trends in Swimwear Make Babies Cool

Taking a baby swimming is a fun and new experience for little ones. Similar to a bath, it is an exciting way to cool down in the summer while getting out and being social with friends, family and other children. Dressing a baby for the swimming pool presents it challenges, but there are several choices for swimming with babies.

Swimwear
One of the biggest challenges in swimwear is size. Since babies grow quickly, it is difficult to get more than a few wearings out of some swimsuits. They are more expensive than wearing cloth diaper swimwear, and not as well constructed. One advantage to wearing swim diapers is that they are adjustable and will fit the baby for longer than regular swimwear. Additionally, they do not have to be replaced like disposables. Swim diapers are also an alternative to stuffing a diapered child into a pair of ill-fitting swim trunks. Not only does this look more attractive, it is more comfortable for both the child and the person holding or carrying them.

Style
One of the latest trends in infant swimwear is swim diapers. They are available in stylish colors and pattern designs. They are designed to fit underneath a swimsuit, but are frequently worn alone. While some parents may take their children to the pool in disposable diapers, these are usually plain white and made of plastic. Far from stylish or trendy, disposable diapers do not allow babies show off their bubbly personalities with fun prints and vibrant colors. Unlike the olden days of cloth diapering, this cloth diaper or woven blend swimwear is fastened by snaps or hook and loop closures, not pins.

Comfort
If the weather is warm enough to take the family swimming at the pool, it is probably best to dress the baby in cotton or light blends. It is cooler and breathes. It also gets wet and will help to cool down the entire body, not just the top half. Cotton is also easily laundered after an outing and dries rather quickly. Unlike the cloth diapers of old, these are snug around the legs and waistband to not only make the baby feel more comfortable, but to prevent any solid waste leakage while in the pool. There are some swim diapers available that are made of soft nylon on the outside to look more like a bathing suit. When an accident does happen, the swim diapers can be quickly and easily removed, then laundered later for reuse the next time the family goes to the pool.
