Never Too Old to Learn.

Lots of people love to swim, however it can be a very embarrassing and daunting experience for someone who doesnâEUR(TM)t know how. If you were never taught or just havenâEUR(TM)t been for a long time then it might be an idea to take a beginner or refresher swimming lesson. Contrary to popular belief, lessons arenâEUR(TM)t just for children, there are classes for people of all ages from one to one hundred.
There are many benefits to knowing how to swim, you can feel safe next to water, be confident and maybe feel brave enough to try out some water sports or take the kids to the beach. Taking lessons and learning to swim will fill you with a great sense of achievement, each badge and certificate you gain will help your confidence and self-esteem to grow.

If you didnâEUR(TM)t learn to swim as a child it is common to feel as if you missed out but this is simply not true. If your child is asking to be taken swimming and you donâEUR(TM)t know how itâEUR(TM)s a very good idea to organise your own lessons. You can join a class or sometimes it is possible to have private lessons with an instructor for an extra fee. There are many sessions and classes especially for parents and children so you and your child could learn to swim together.

Swimming is also a brilliant cardio vascular workout for your body, it is commonly recommended by doctors for people who are recovering from injury or an operation as part of rehabilitation. As it presents no stress on any of your joints it is also recommended for those who are unable to get other forms of exercise due to health reasons.

If you are already a confident swimmer then it is possible to join an expert class for help with your technique. These are much longer lessons and the instructor will help to correct posture and iron out any problems. These classes are very helpful for those who are considering or currently taking part in competitive swimming.

ItâEUR(TM)s important to find the right pool for your lessons, if the pool is dirty and tiles are cracked then itâEUR(TM)s probably a good idea to walk away. The right centre will have a well maintained pool and changing area, the water will be a nice temperature and all teachers and staff will be CRB checked for your safety.
