Cartridge filters are a more economical and this type requires very little maintenance. The cartridges are removable so they are easy to clean. Some methods to clean the cartridges are:

1. Do not use too much pressure especially using a spray nozzle directly into the filter as you may end up pushing the dirt further into the cartridge.

2. Use a specific cartridge cleaner like a plastic bucket where you can soak your cartridge in the special cleaner and leave it for a few hours or overnight.

3. Purchase cartridge cleaning solutions as they are purposely designed to break down the compounds like the sunscreen oils and lotions preventing further dirt sticking and clogging your cartridge.

4. Thoroughly rinse the cartridge before putting it back into the cartridge filter.

These cartridge filters are highly effective and efficient at keeping your pool water clean and crystal clear.
