Swim Spa Prices - Not for the Faint of Heart

If you're interested in a swim spa, you may have checked online for various models of swim spas for sale, and if you did that, then you may have walked away with a bit of sticker shock. Unlike a hot tub, which you can pick up for as little as three thousand dollars, a good swim spa can set you back thirty to forty thousand dollars, or more, and that's just for the initial purchase. After that, you're looking at installation fees, possible landscaping changes, depending on where you want it, and maintenance and upkeep. All that to say that from a purely cost-based perspective, this is not a cheap addition to your home.

Fortunately, in recent years, swim spa prices have been coming down, although they remain an option only for the relatively affluent. Still, there are a number of alternatives you may want to consider. For example: As mentioned, hot tub prices can be as little as a tenth of what the swim-models run, and if you get a large one, you can have extra jets installed for somewhere in the neighborhood of three thousand dollars or so. Granted, this will not give you the full experience, but at less than half the cost, it's a reasonably priced alternative.

If you're dead set on getting one though, check out different manufacturers, for certain. You'll find, for example, that Endless Pool prices will sometimes be markedly different from Dynasty Spa prices, and manufacturers often hold sales or offer special incentives for the purchase (sometimes to the unit itself, and sometimes the discount takes the form of a reduced installation and setup charge, though note that not all companies have their own installers, so this is another consideration).

Still, swim spas are growing increasingly popular, and as they do, there is little doubt that the prices will continue to drop. If you have the financial resources to make such an addition to your home, you could not only be one of the early adopters, but you could also wind up being the toast of the neighborhood, and its addition will almost certainly add a good deal of value to your home, making it an excellent long term purchase option.
