Swimming Activities And Games

I understand that many swimming instructors have difficulties of creating their own games and activities for their students to play and socialize with one and another. Therefore, below are some games and activities that I had come up with, that will ensure total fun and enjoyment during the swimming lessons.

The first game is called the "Pool Toy Drop". Firstly, dump all the toys into the pool and the toys must come in different sizes. When the whistle blows, everyone jumps in and goes wild to collect as many toys as possible. The student who collects the most toys will win a gift from their teacher.

The second game is called "Steal the Bacon from the Swimming Pool". This game is exactly the same as steal the bacon. The only difference is the game will be taking place in the pool instead of the land. The swimming coach will split the students into two groups. The two groups can either be in the water or standing on the both sides of the pool. The bacon could be anything such as a ball, watch or even coins. In addition the bacon can be floating on the surface, sunk to the bottom or even in the process of sinking.

The third game is called "Rainbow colours". One person stands outside of the pool with their back facing the pool. Everyone else stands along the same edge of the pool and think of a colour. When everyone is ready, the person standing outside the pool will shout out different colours. When your colour is called, you have to swim across the pool. When the person standing outside the pool thinks that someone is swimming, they turn around and jump in and tag the swimmers before they reach the other side. If the swimmer gets tagged, they will be the new person to stand outside of the pool. However, when the person who turns around when nobody is swimming or they didn't tag the swimmer, they have to stand one step further away from the swimming pool.

The fourth game is called "Clear the Noodle". The equipment that is needed is one of the pool noodle and a leader who can tread water. Basically, place the leader in the pool and have them hold on the noodle as a calculated distance from the diving board. Then one by one, have the students to jump over the noodle from the diving board into the pool. After reaching the leader, moves the noodle one foot away, making it tougher for the student to cross the noodle.

The fifth game is called "Hop or Dive". It is a typical pool game extremely entertaining for enthusiasm participants but slightly more fun for onlookers. This game must be performed in a big pool that allows participants to dive in and inclusive a diving board. Firstly, interested participants will queue up outside the pool, one person at a time; the player must get a good running start and get a splendid bound off the board. Then at the last second, the leader either shouts hop or dive. Follow up player must immediately make adjustments and it begins to get comical when players start anticipating the call and try to adjust but end up with distasteful consequence.
