The lower the friction factor between the suit and the water the faster would be the swimming speed. Therefore, you should invest in a good quality swim suit for your swimming classes even though it will be relatively expensive. Also, make sure that you put on your swimming cap before hitting the pool since smooth surfaces reduce friction thus making you more streamlined.
