The Importance of Pool Fencing

My daughter loves going out in the boat with my husband. She is a good swimmer and always insists that she should be allowed not to wear a life preserver. My motto has and will always be that it is better to be safe than sorry. A lesson I don't want to learn the hard way when it has to do with my child's life. This is how I feel about pool fencing. You might think it is an eye soar, that it is expensive and hard to maintain or that is just not a necessity because your children know how to swim. Pool fencing is one of those situations that I believe it is better to be safe than sorry.

People that own pools are ethically required to make the environment that the pool is in safe. This requires that pool fencing is put in place to keep people from entering the area without supervision. Statistics show that the number one cause of accidental death to children below the age of 5 is drowning. Fences today are intended to provide safety without the expense, maintenance, or eyesore that had been previously involved in fencing.

The most important thing pool fences provide is safety. Accidents happen to even parents that keep an eye on their children the entire time they are playing outside. You don't have to be neglectful to have an accident strike. A statistic showed that 75% of the children that had drowned had been reported to have been seen by a parent within five minutes of the accidents happening. Many of those had been inside playing when they somehow slipped outside and 2/3 of the children that had drowned were seen outside of the pool area. This is why it is so important to have a pool fence that is locked at all times when you are not in the pool area. Children are adventuresome and love to play in the water. All it takes is one moment and they are gone forever.

Pool fencing is also important in regards to keeping people from entering your pool without your consent. Whether it is a neighbor or neighborhood children you don't want to have that liability. Pool fencing provides privacy for your entertaining area. It is not uncommon in neighborhoods for the people with the pool to become the hub of the social circle. This however does not have to be the case if you choose a privacy fence. You can limit social activities to invitation only. People won't just be able to see you out in the pool area and assume that they are welcome to come join you.

With the installation of backyard pools on the rise it is important to discuss all of the benefits that pool fencing brings with it. Fencing is no longer considered an eyesore. With all different styles of fencing available it is more of a landscaping show piece. It is also becoming more and more economical. Fencing materials are easy to take care of and more affordable than previous options.
