If you already have a pool you love in the summer, now is about the time you can't help but wish you had a spa as well, somewhere to warm up on a winter's night, soothe sore muscles, relax and unwind. The good news is that adding a spa to an existing pool area is not as difficult as you might think. Here's some of what you need to know to get the pool reno started. For more information, give us a call or come see us in Cumming.

Adding a Spillover Spa

Spillover spas look complicated but they're often the easiest option when it comes to adding a spa to an existing pool. Spillover spas are placed directly adjacent to the existing pool and the spa and pool water actually flow together so you still only need one pump. Installing a spillover spa is a relatively painless project, taking only a few hours once plumbing adjustment are made and the shell is laid in. Once you place the unit, you just connect the plumbing to that of the main pool equipment. The process is somewhat longer if you want a concrete spillover spa installed, but still pretty short.

Adding a Spa during Pool Renovations

If your swimming pool is more than 15 years old, or is starting to look a little "dated" to you, then you might be interested in a pool renovation. This can be a simple facelift or it can be a whole lot more. No matter how old your pool is, it can be renovated to look like a beautiful oasis that was just built yesterday. If you decide to upgrade your pool a bit, that's the perfect time to add a hot tub. To do any renovations, the pool needs to be emptied anyway. While it's empty, you can do any structural work you want. The existing pool can be re-jigged to add a spa within the main body or you can actually extend the pool to include a new spa area. If you don't want to touch the existing pool shell, installing a separate spa unit directly beside your pool will require installing separate pumps, filtration equipment and so on, so you might as well do a little pool makeover while you're at it.

Finding a Great Pool Company

Putting a hot tub in or around your pool is definitely not a job that you can do yourself! You'll need to work with an experienced pool expert like the experts at Mirage! We'll work with you throughout the entire process - designing the spa area, budgeting the project, making changes to your existing pool, getting permits, constructing the spa itself and landscaping as necessary.
