There are many different types of villa holiday available in a wide range of countries around the world. With so many destinations to choose from, you will be spoilt for choice. Once you have found your ideal destination, you can spend some time looking at the villas on offer. There is a whole variety of villas on offer and what you choose, depends upon what you are looking for on your holiday.

The first thing you should do is to set your budget so that you know how much you have to spend. This will allow you to look at choices within that price range. There is no point in looking at a villa which is outside your means. As a general rule, the more secluded, the bigger and more amenities on offer, the greater the cost will be. However, there are a few essentials that will make your holiday villa perfect whatever your budget. There need to be enough bedrooms to accommodate the whole party comfortably, whether there are 2 or 12 in your group. Comfortable beds, easy chairs and a well equipped kitchen should also be a consideration. Find out whether there is a maid service and if the linen will be changed during your stay. You will need to know whether there is a laundry service or a washing machine. You may or may not want internet access and satellite TV, it depends on what type of holiday you want. Look at the layout of the villa so that you can see what rooms are available. Some villas will be advertised as sleeping x number of people but 2 of whom will be expected to sleep on a sofa bed, so do take this into account and whether this is something that is acceptable or not. How many bathrooms are there? Is there a bath or a shower or both? Is there a swimming pool and if so how often is it cleaned or maintained? A patio or grass area with sun beds or loungers is usually offered and these will usually be located beside the pool if there is one or in the garden if there is not.

If you are looking for a beach holiday, find out how far away the beach is from your villa. Also, it is a good idea to find out how far away local amenities are so that you can decide whether you will need to hire a car or not. You may be close enough to walk or take a taxi to the shops however, you may wish to go exploring so having transport might be an essential. Some villas will offer the use of a vehicle as part of the package but you must find out about insurance and any local taxes that are payable so that you can drive legally in that country.

As with any holiday accommodation, the location is important as this will determine the type of holiday you will have. You might be looking for a quiet secluded break where you can relax and enjoy the sunshine without having to do much. On the other hand, you might be wanting to set an itinerary so that you are doing something different every day and enjoying some nightlife in the evenings. The location is probably the biggest consideration when choosing your villa accommodation so that you can arrange your activities in advance. Clean and pleasant surroundings will also be a factor and if you have children or elderly people travelling with you, you will want to know that the villa and its grounds will be safe and secure for them as well. We all have different ideas about the sort of holiday we would like and hopefully, if you decide upon a villa holiday, you can find one in the location of your choice that sets you up for the holiday of your dreams.
